| The name is Viola Ferrando. Photographer ; singer ; artist. I'm a passionate teenage analogue photographer. At 15 years of age, I act like I could be 10 and take pictures like a 76 year old ex-hippie; film camera and all. Very emotionally attached to everything I do, I give names to my cameras. It's a way to relate to them. I befriend my models, try to bring out what is really inside them. Soon, I'll develop my own film, and be able to say that I'm a completed photographer. I currently have three (technically 4) cameras I use: Billy ; Canon EOS Rebel XS 1993. ANALOGUE. 35mm. Semi-Automatic. Mr. Pink ; Diana F+ 'Mr. Pink' clone 2009. ANALOGUE. 120|220mm. Manual. Rae ; Some type of Yashica, around 25 years old. ANALOGUE. 35mm. Manual. Fijifilm FinePix A820, 8.3 MP ; Digital, hate it, really crappy, doesn't deserve a name. I record videos with it. ANALOGUE FILM : A plastic sheet with a photosensitive emulsion that comes in various formats for different cameras such as 35mm, 110, 120 and 220. "Old fashioned" plastic-based film is used to create an analog of the actual scene. Analog film has nearly infinite resolution with its resolution quality based on the construction of the lenses. |

Make Art, not war
I'm thinking about getting a SLR next year because all I have is a point and shoot (Yeah, with good creativity we can use it artistically, but I would like to try a "real" camera).
What camera should I buy, in your opinion?

Guybrush: What are you guys doing up there?
Pirate: We're afraid of coming down. It's the opposite of acrophobia. Something like "orcaphobia".
Guybrush: Sounds more like "workaphobia" to me.
For a good digital SLR, you should consider anything in Canon. Their cheaper that Nikon and have an equal (or even sometimes superior quality). If you want to start out small, a Rebel XS is a good start.
